I just found out about this film called Elephants Dream, it is the world’s first movie made with entirely open source software. I just finished downloading a copy and I have to say it isn’t all that bad. The fact this is all done with open source software is the best thing.

Get Legal – Get OpenOffice.org
You have to give the OpenOffice folks some credit for getting this site and campaign up so fast. It points out a few of the changes at Microsoft recently and poses the question – should this concern you?
- Microsoft just bought an asset management company, Asset Metrix, that has a better inventory that their current tool (SMS) and it has license management features it in.
- Mircosoft is in the process of testing a “Genuine Software Initiative” service, where users will be forced to prove they have a genuine copy of Office just like the do for Windows now.
- They point out that software audits are increasing around the world and point to the Business Software Alliance as the main culprit.
